John Mayer hospitalized for emergency appendectomy
John Mayer underwent an emergency appendectomy Tuesday morning, forcing the rocker to postpone a New Orleans Dead & Company show.
The band announced the news on Twitter, and added that all tickets for the Tuesday night show at Smoothie King Center would be honored for a to-be-announced rescheduled date.
Mayer, 40, has been touring with Dead & Company, a reshuffled Grateful Dead lineup, since 2015.
The band currently includes former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.
Dead & Company was forced to postpone a Tuesday show in New Orleans.
The group is in the second leg of its 2018 tour, and has shows slated for Thursday and Friday in Florida, as well as a string of dates in Mexico in February.
