Lionel Richie backed out of a gig Wednesday night in order to help his family escape the blaze engulfing Los Angeles.
“Due to the devastating California Wildfires, and helping family evacuate to a safer place, I unfortunately have to cancel my show tonight,” he tweeted Wednesday.
“I look forward to returning to the stage this weekend and performing for my fans.”
Southern California fires force thousands to evacuate
Richie is in the middle of his “All the Hits” residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
