Mariah Carey facing lawsuit from ex-manager
“Fantasy” singer Mariah Carey is facing all-too-real legal action from her former manager.
Stella Stolper filed paperwork to set a lawsuit in motion, claiming super diva Carey, 48, breached a contract, violated the longtime manager’s civil rights — and needs to make good on “fiduciary duty.”
Stolper was dismissed by the pop last fall and, TMZ reports, is claiming she still hasn’t been paid “a large sum of money” for her services.
Stolper is seeking “damages in an amount to be proved at trial, plus interest and costs.”
In 2013, Carey hired Stolper, who used to do stand-up comedy, to produce the reality TV show “Mariah’s World.”
During her tenure, Stolper helped guide Carey through personal and business crises, including an ill-fated New Year’s Eve performance in Times Square.
In November 2017, Carey, whose hits include “We Belong Together,” and Stolper decided that they didn’t.
In a statement, the pair announced it “ is in their mutual best interest to part ways on day-to-day management.”
