Man shot and killed outside Yo Gotti concert
A man was shot and killed in Kansas City Friday night after a fight broke out at a Yo Gotti concert.
The unidentified victim was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds by police in a parking lot across the street from the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., where Gotti was performing at around 11:30 p.m., local station WDAF-Tv reported.
Police told the station that a fight inside had ended up spilling out into the parking lot when shots were fired.
Witnesses reportedly heard at least five shots, according to Action 41 News reporter Andres Gutierrez.
Former NFL player Dwayne Bowe, who performed with Yo Gotti at the theater, took to social media to voice his disappointment in the violence.
“We gotta do better black people,” he said. “We gotta look out for each other.”
Yo Gotti, 36, whose real name is Mario Mims, has not responded publicly to the news.
Police did not reveal if any arrests have been made or information about possible suspects.
Yo Gotti was suspected to be a possible person of interest in the shooting of hip hop artist Young Dolph in September, but authorities later disputed the rumors.
